This is an oil painting depicting a brilliant Blue Morpho butterfly on an orange Mexican Sunflower. The Blue Morpho butterflies are very hard to photograph with their wings spread. When they are at rest they fold up. They have an interesting pattern to their wings but they are brown so they tend to blend into their environment. Inspiration comes from Butterfly World located in Tradewinds Park 3600 W. Sample Road, Coconut Creek, FL 33073
